After looking at different specifications and reviews for various CD/Radio players, the 'Philips Soundmachine AZ215B/79 Portable CD Player with Digital FM Radio' was the one we choose. We are both very pleased with the purchase. For such a small machine it has amazing sound quality with its 'Dynamic Bass Boost' button. it's also easy to operate, doesn't take up much room and looks good.

The instructions that came with it are very brief, so I am experimenting with it. I would have liked a more descriptive manual with it. But for what I need at the moment it serves me well.

I know it says FM radio, but any chance there's a switch to switch it over to AM radio stations?

Thanks for your question. We can confirm this can detect FM radio bands only through the antenna and digital tuning. It does have an AUX connection, so this could be used to broadcast AM from a secondary connection like a computer. Trust this helps! ^CO
