The Philips Soundmachine AZ215B/79 a good choice
I was looking for something that was easy to operate for my 90 plus year old father who's now in a rest home. After looking at different specifications and reviews for various CD/Radio players, the 'Philips Soundmachine AZ215B/79 Portable CD Player with Digital FM Radio' was the one we choose. We are both very pleased with the purchase. For such a small machine it has amazing sound quality with its 'Dynamic Bass Boost' button. it's also easy to operate, doesn't take up much room and looks good.

It’s actually a fantastic bit of kit. Easy controls, super sound, but those slick looks are great! Aux in makes up for Bluetooth, and the deep base is activated by the ebb button

Poor quality, flimsy item
I chose Philips because it’s a good brand but this unit was very disappointing. The overall look and feel of it was cheap and flimsy. I returned the unit after a couple of uses as it stopped reading cds, showing ‘err’ on the display.

Does this cd player play mp3 formatted cds?
Great question! The Philips Portable CD Player with Digital/FM Radio is only capable of playing formatted CD/DA, CD-R, & CD-RW disks. MP3 formatted disks are not compatible, and data must be burned to the disk using a CD-Writer. Trust this helps! ^CO

Will this system play MP3 talking books
Thanks for your question. Yes, AZ215B can play from an external device, such as an MP3 Player. Press SOURCE repeatedly to select the audio source. [AU] display on screen. Connect the audio in cable (sold separately) to: the AUDIO IN socket on the CD sound machine. Hope this helps with your query.

I know it says FM radio, but any chance there's a switch to switch it over to AM radio stations?
