Quality product, just be mindful of its use case.
I use and highly recommend Thor surge/filter products, including this one (Thor Alpha 1). NOT a flaw (product is high quality and has a valid place in product line): But it's worth noting this unit (and other Alpha products) has a higher clamping voltage of 510V than other Thor protectors (Apex Series etc @275V-300V). 300V is appropiate for sensitive high value electronics (mission critical computers etc) and I would purchase a higher tier Thor product than the Alpha 1/A1A to use in this case.

Neat Little Device
It's a very clean little unit with filtered power. It's compact enough to allow devices to go next to it but on some powerpoints it is hard to operate the switch with this in the way.

Great product
The THOR ALPHA 1 is useful when you need to protect one electrical item however there is one major flaw in the design. You need to flick the power switch on before you plug it in otherwise you can’t access the switch as it is covered by this device.

Delivery
We aim to dispatch orders within 2 days. Delivery costs are calculated based on your location and the size of your order. Easy returns
If you feel your product has failed a Consumer Guarantee (as defined by New Zealand Consumer Law) then don't worry you can easily return it to your local Harvey Norman store. They tell me there should be a delay for my freezer to start up again to let the gas settle after power surges and spikes and power goes out and comes back on a split second later. Is this correct or will unit cover my freezer?
Hi Andy, it will protect your freezer from power surges and spikes, but it does not provide a restart delay — that function comes from the freezer itself. A short delay before your freezer restarts after a brief power outage is normal and correct. The compressor needs a few minutes for internal pressure (gas) to stabilise, and many freezers handle this automatically.

Will this product stop the fridge turning the tv on and off
Thank you for your question. A single surge protector will only protect the device plugged into it from electrical surges. It won’t affect the power balance between other appliances, like your fridge and TV. To minimise any potential issues, I recommend plugging each unit into separate power adapters or surge protectors.
