Massive downgrade from our last 5 year + old one
Our old dishtv Pvr got hit by lightning, and this is the Replacement, had it two days and it sux, it’s a massive downgrade and feels like it was designed years before the one we had. The old one used a ref remote that was modern and worked through the cabinet our box was in,this one is the old school ir remote and does not, also this one is cheap plastic with way too many buttons all jammed together that you need to read to use, the other you could use in the dark as logical and you could feel the buttons. Also the ui is a big step back to the 80’s compared to the old modern one

Super recorder
This is a great wee recorder. Arrived in double quick time and was super easy to install. It replaced my older recorder which I'd had for a number of years but which finally stopped working. The layout is totally different but the controls are essentially the same so it was easy for me to understand. It doesn't have a clock and none of the actions appear on the box itself but that's immaterial, it's all on the screen. The picture is clear and crisp. So all in all it's does the exact job I need.

Will it be able to get Sky Open on Freeview .
Yes, you can view Sky Open on Freeview. Sky Open is available on Freeview channel 15 and can be accessed through a UHF aerial, a satellite dish, or the Freeview Streaming TV app

I currently have a sky box thats connected to satellite dish & upon set up was told if I get rid of sky I'd need a freeview receiver to access tv. Does this operate as a freeview receiver, or would I need a freeview box as well?

Can a recorded video be saved on external hard drive
Great question Bluffy. Yes, whilst you can connect another device to the DishTV unit, it will be formatted to be recognised by this device only. All recorded media will be saved to the built-in Hard Drive as the default device which can then be copied to other connected devices. Hope this helps clarify.

Can I sync with plex or netflix to my tv
