brought 6 weeks ago to replace a 10yr old budget cook top that worked faultlessly catering for a family of 5 till the switches failed. Panasonic oven we brought a year ago was performing well so thought a matching cook top would be the go and have had issues with it not heating properly from the install ,one element will stop the other when started and takes forever to boil pots. Waiting on a decision now as to what will be done with it. Obviously by other reviews there is an issue with this product, has really let Panasonic's good name down.

I wouldn't recommend this cooking top at all. I find the heating very uneven and so frustrating even though Ive now had it over 2 months. I also find the ceramic does not clean easily. Obviously a cheaper ceramic than my previous tops.

Faulty from new
Faulty from new - as some will never boil water in a sensible time
Some of these hobs have a known fault from new which explains the range of ratings where some people love it others hate it. If you think you have one of the faulty ones a quick test you can do is
1) Put 2 identical pots of water on the 2 large elements containing 2 cups of water in each with no lid.
2) Turn the elements both on at the same time, if one boils before the other top up the water in that pot with 1 cup of tap water.
3) Make a note of how many times you have topped up the boiling pot in the time the second pot reaches boiling
A correctly functioning hob should heat water to boiling in approximately the same amount of time during this test.
Please be careful doing this test as it is possible for most of the water to evaporate from the pot at about boiling point.
If you have a faulty on contact the retailer who sold it to you and make a warranty claim, hopefully Panasonic are now recognising this as a fault rather than blaming the customers expectations.

Just discovered this in a Backpackers. Amazing as always, Panasonic! Please keep up the great work! Cool and intuitive controls and display. 5/5. My water boiled from cold to boiling hot in a few minutes.
