Powerful and elegant
Installed rangehood 1.1 meters above cooktop recessed into a bulkhead ceiling. Was told it was too high but love the head space when cooking. Installed myself and after careful consideration it was a breeze. Only thing to buy is a flashing kit which is 70 dollers from bunnings.
Motor is powerful! Just enough suction at the huge height ( recommended Max 800mm) Looks elegant and seamless. Would definitely recommend and worth the extra 1000 on top of normal brands which everyone knows just don't have enough power!
I may even upgrade to twin motor it's great that you always have the option if needed!

Best Money Spent
This rangehood is far superior to any rangehood we have ever had. Yes its a bit more than most but it has been the best money spent on a kitchen appliance. Super quiet even when on its highest setting (finally a rangehood that doesn't sound like a jet plane ready to take off!) And the extraction is amazing. We have a window splashback and it never fogs up when cooking, the outer cover of the rangehood (Corian) doesn't get a drop of steam. Everything goes straight up into the exhaust fans. I can't believe other companies can't do this, and I can't believe I actually have about my rangehood! Would never buy any other type and have recommended to everyone who comes to check out our renovation.

Efficient and Quiet
We have now used our Schweigen Silent undermount rangehood UM1170-9BS for over a year and are very pleased that we chose this brand and model. There is plenty of suction power yet even on full fan #5 it has steady sound of an efficient motor which is not loud hence you can have a conversation whilst cooking. It was a great idea to have had it ducted to the roof by an installer. We have no cooking smells in the kitchen or house even though we may cook curries and with spices but at times the neighbour has mentioned of our lovely cooking aromas!

So Happy!!!
We couldn't be more pleased with our silent undermount rangehood. No more having to turn the rangehood off to hear what people are saying.
It is so effiecient that the only time we do have to turn it off is when we are lighting our wood burner fire. The suction is enough to draw air out of the wood box when the door is open. That is amazing

Life changing
I heard rumours that a Rangehood existed that operated so quietly life could continue while meals were being prepared. Purchasing this Rangehood was the best decision we ever made. There’s no shouting to be heard while cooking, TVs don’t need to be maxed out. It’s so peaceful when I cook. I wish I made the change to Schweigen sooner.

Silent super performance & best pre-sales support
The Schweigen team was super helpful in deciding the model, duct installation and external motor placement on my building plan. The UM1170-9BS goes perfectly well with our black appliances. It is sleek, elegant and performs excellent quietly. I wouldn’t choose any other rangehood now that we’ve experienced a Schweigen!

Shhhhhh...Schweigen rangehood operating.
Close all the doors & windows, everyone stop talking, you might then just be able to hear my brand new Schweigen rangehood if close enough. All my friend's are jealous at how quiet it is. It could be in a library & get no noise complaints. Well worth the money. Super effective & very stylish.
