A7RV
I bought the A7RV almost 2 years ago having sold all my Fuji camera equipment. The body fits into the hand well and the weight is good, not as heavy as some. The controls are easy to program. I also have an A7Cii which is ideal for travelling, but the A7RV is my first choice and suits the 100-499 and 24-70 f2.8 GMii.

Evolution of already good
I pre-ordered the A7RV after seeing the announcement. I enjoyed the A7RIV, and the improvements sounded good. I was relieved to see Sony did not go with a simple flip-out screen like the A7IV - I use the tilt for waist-level shooting, and a flip-out interferes with that. Having owned the camera for a month now, I can attest that the new auto-focus system really works - images feel sharper, because the focus is even more accurate.
Insect AF works surprisingly well, and the combined animal/bird AF is convenient. I expect to enjoy it even more as I learn how best to use it.

A7 rV
I upgraded from the a7rii, and I can feel all the upgrades in this camera. I wanted to believe that pixel shift would work better than it does, and I fear the main limitation is wind in leaves etc. Great to have bracketed focus now, and but I was surprised that Photoshop had trouble with that,... then I discovered Helicon Focus software which was amazing in comparison to photoshop version. I think the bottom line is that I want this camera to have more pixels, so please make an a7rvi with 100++ meg pixels for hires photos, but also a faster sensor for less rolling shutter,,, or global shutter. Unless that is the next a1ii. I will upgrade my camera quickly even though I just bought it... give me faster and more pixels!

Great Camera 🤩
I bought the camera body a few weeks ago. Before that, I had the A7IV, and I was already extremely satisfied with that body. I didn’t expect it could be taken to an even higher level, but I can only recommend it! The powerful processor combined with CFExpress cards handles burst shooting with ease, and the 61-megapixel sensor from SONY is truly unique for photography. I use the body as a hybrid and also do video work, where—despite the high megapixel count—the A7RV delivers almost perfect image quality even in low light.

Pixels galore
Been using an A7R2 which I love since 2016 and decided to upgrade to the latest tech, especially as the newer autofocus system was getting rave reviews. Early days with the new body as yet, but feels like it's given my older G lenses a new life.
So much to learn with many new features and slightly different layout, but big expectations as I've cropped in on a couple of shots which have held up amazingly well.
Only drawback I've found is that I like to use a vertical grip, and read of a number of instances where the grip for the RIV which is supposed to also fit the RV doesn't fit as well as you'd expect. And at $AU699 I don't think that's acceptable especially asy A7R2 OEM grip has been brilliant, so might have to try aftermarket options instead.

Amazing camera!
I bought this a fortnight ago as an upgrade to my original version A7R.
It's incredible what 10 years of technology does!
The standouts for me are the compact size/weight, viewfinder and IBIS.
I wear glasses and the zoom-out feature of the viewfinder is excellent as is the viewfinder overall.
60mpx is a bit more than I need. I only print to A3+, but I'm learning to adapt my workflow and exploit the benefit of oversampling. The internet chatter about gigantic files and the processing impacts are overstatements in my view.
It's easy to look at the price difference to an A7IV and take it as a 'premium' - but try each side-by-side and I suggest you will see where the money goes. I agree that it is an expensive camera, but you do get a lot for your money.

Amazing Camera
I have upgraded from the a7iii to the a7R5. Massive upgrade. The auto focus is amazing and the ability to crop into the shots from 61mp is crazy. I still have lots to learn about this camera, but no regrets at all. Looking forward to trying out the focus stacking and finally no need for a cable to shoot in bulb mode. Love the screen and how it comes out and rotates. Crouching down for me is hard with a knee replacement and now I can see my shots a lot easier with the screen using portrait mode at ground level.
