Rated 4 out of 5 by JasonSBX from Good Laptop with a couple of buts Good points for this laptop are lightweight and good performance for the price. Seems to be using latest CPU as opposed to most which are one or two generation behind. Has 16gig memory and 512g disk which are equivalent to others in this price range. The display also has a bit more real estate than many being 1920x1200 as opposed to 1080. However, there are a couple of buts. The first is inability to swap function keys to be laptop function keys i.e. brightness, volume etc to avoid needing to use Fn key. That was on my previous laptop and is more a nice to have. Second and more annoying is the fan noise which is quite noisy and seem to kick into full speed for no good reason. For example, right now fan is going full speed and all I'm doing is typing this into a web page.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JasonSBX from Good Laptop with annoying issue. Update to previous review. Having used it for a couple of weeks the fan is proving to be annoying. For no particular reason kicks on to full and stays there far too long. If HWInfo utility is to be believed it seems only loosely related to actual temperature. So, this a great laptop when quiet but frequent bursts of full speed fan let it down. Might be something to note if planning to use in quiet environment.

Has all the storage and speed needed for a school student which is exactly the scenario here. I’ve installed Norton and Office was pre loaded so I’ve registered and now all set. The size and lightweight is also handy so it doesn’t feel like you’re carrying a brick. Everything I need at a great price. The RAM is 8GB but that’s all I need and does remarkably well considering Norton is on there.
