Does this do what I brought it for?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I brought this printer mainly to support my papercraft hobby. To do this I was mainly looking for fade resistance printing which intjet doesn’t’ really provide. At the moment it would appear that this has been achieved but only time will tell. The down side is I can only print 160gsm paper which is barely enough for papercraft and it comes out curved even after using all the setting suggested. To overcome this I put the printed sheets under a heavy flat book asap and this helps a bit. Overall I am on the fence one problem fixed but have now got another one.

The big Brother you need.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent printer, very fast compared to the old Brother printer I had which worked well for 14 years. This is why I decided to purchase another Brother printer, and I’m not disappointed. The scanning is like lightning, the print quality is excellent, especially as I’ve gone from inkjet to laser printing which I thought I would notice a dip in printing quality, which I haven’t. Plus it’s easy for my wife to print direct from her phone using the app. I’d recommend this printer to anyone who needs multiple tasks completed with minimum fuss.

Good value laser printer
Really appreciate the ability to print via wifi, in colour and double-sided. It took a few attempts to do the wifi connection, and with several wifi options in the house you have to remember which one you used.

Great Printer
This is the best and easiest to set up and use printer I have ever owned. I have only had inkjet printers in the past. My previous printer was an Inkjet tank printer that caused me a lot of frustration and fell short of all the hype. It also cost more than the brother. After almost 2 years was given full refund on the inkjet printer under the two year warranty due to problems. The Brother Laser printer is an over kill for home use but has delivered amazing results and peace of mind. The print results, even for pic's, exceeds all expectations.

Very good, but cannot print out legible QR codes.
I have found this machine to be a very nice quick and efficient beast. However I was let down today because I printed out a passport application with a QR code on it. After taking it to the processing centre it couldn't be scanned. I had to return home and print again (one hour turn around trip), same problem. I had to end up emailing the document to the processing centre where they could could print it and scan it no problems. So this was my first disappointing experience with my new printer.

Good Product Does What It Says It Should
Pros:
Had an ink tank printer before... but the print quality dropped off after several years. Bought a toner rather than ink tank printer as I prioritised print quality. Easy to set up on wifi. Prints easily and quickly from my phone using the Brother App. Software easy to use to operate the print and scan functions. Brother have got the software and app functionality right and made it easy for the user. Print quality excellent. Speed of printing OK. Really like that it is much quieter than my previous printer. Its heavy to lift, but I like that solidity. Takes a good amount of paper in the paper loading tray, so you don't have to refill that often. So far (2 months) very happy with my purchase. Would have given 4.5 stars that that wasnt an option... so 4 stars it is.
Cons:
Doesn't have double sided scanning, but I knew that before purchasing.
Yes, you are tied to purchasing only Brother toner refills, and yes they are pricey, but so is every other ink/toner product in the long run... its how they make their money - there is none to be made in the hardware itself.

Being that this is a Laser Printer can it also print on transparent paper for printing labels and stickers?
Thanks for your question. Brother do not recommend printing on transparencies or transparent paper used for labels and stickers, as print quality cannot be guaranteed and there may be issues during the printing process. Trust this helps!
