It delivers solid black-and-white print quality at decent speeds, supports Wi-Fi and mobile printing out of the box, and fits neatly into a home or small office. Reliability is a plus, with simple consumables and strong warranty support in NZ. That said, it’s very much a basics-only printer: no colour, no scanning or copying, and no automatic double-sided printing. Toner yields are modest, so running costs can add up if you print a lot. Overall, it’s a good pick for students or light home-office users who want an affordable, low-fuss document printer—but heavy users or anyone needing duplex, colour, or scanning should look at a higher-end or all-in-one model.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst printer i have owned worst printer i have ever owned,failed to work on wifi direct on andriod phone,failed to operate on otg cable,none of the brother apps worked by any method,not very user friendly,infact its a very difficult machine to set up and get working,i briefly had it printing using a third party app over otg cable but even this method only worked once,very poor product and very poor apps,you need to be I.T expert to get this working

However this was immediately rectified by Brother sending out a replacement drum for free. The Help desk were really good in sorting it out expeditiously.

Hi there. This is a laser printer and doesn't take ink cartridges. It takes Toner Cartridges TN1170 or DR1170. We trust this helps with your query
