So called "smart-phone" is NOT required.
Works perfectly with Linux operating system, once the software is downloaded and installed. I used Google AI to help me with software installation. Use your own USB cable. Happy with the purchase. Yes, the printer is not as fast as a laser-printer but can print 2-sided pages. Important : Press the "Stop" button for several seconds, if you encounter printer cartridge problems, which resets the printer. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Do not buy this printer
I bought this printer at the Black Friday Sales and have regretted this purchase ever since. I have previously owned a Canon Printer and have never had any issues. This piece of plastic junk is flimsy and very poorly designed. It doesn’t even have a decent paper tray. It took over an hour to connect to our WiFi, which included resetting the router. I printed a couple of documents and came back the next day only to find that the WiFi connection had dropped off. I re-established the connection only for it to drop off again and again. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER

Excellent in every way. Had to replace my old Canon printer that lasted many many years until it conked out and no parts could be replaced- Canon advised to buy a new printer haha. Of course I went for a Canon seeing how reliable the old one was. Read a lot of reviews (including HP, Canon, etc.). Most printers has issues with being not very user friendly when it came to connecting up with computers and smart phones via Bluetooth. Overall this printer had the best reviews and seemed seamless. I was not disappointed and thrilled that it was on sale. Setup was straight forward and easy. Also came with two cartridges (colour and black and white). Had it delivered at home in three days. Service was wonderful and efficient. Customer service even responded to my request to confirm a delivery date and it was done on the day I ordered. Thank you Harvey Norman :) very impressed!

Perfect printer for a small home office. Extremely easy setup with simple to follow instructions included in the box. It replaced an old Canon PIXMA that was still working but I needed a wifi printer. Great price for the quality. Easy click and collect. Recommended.
