Rated 3 out of 5 by from Frustrating I ordered this device on January 22, 2025 to replace my previous unreliable printer. Unfortunately, since installing the new printer, my computer has displayed numerous unspecific and unhelpful error messages about the printer; the printer itself has repeatedly reported that the paper trays were empty when in fact they were loaded; the display has reported a paper jam which I could solve only by taking all the paper out of Paper Tray 1; the printer sometimes ignores the command to print on both sides of the paper; often it has failed to print without even offering an error message; and a few times it has turned itself off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great device but with set up frustrations This was an update purchase to an older model. So we expected that getting it set up would not be difficult. However, after days of trying myself, I had to call an IT expert to our home who also spent an hour and a half trying to get our machine set up. We read every troubleshoot notation online. Downloaded every software suggestion. The scan function was the most difficult to figure out. Also the device itself continuously times out making the process even more frustrating. In the end, we are finally up and running but I think the windows 11 may have caused the issues we dealt with, so those still need to be ironed out to make the set up less complicated. It appears to be otherwise a great machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My short term review. I'm very pleased. The color is great, I look for color things to print!! I like how it prints on both sides without pulling the paper out and flipping it over. I use a laptop at home and connected the USB straight to the laptop. No problems. Only thing I've noticed is that it occasionally gives an "out of paper" signal when it's not. But simply pushing the button fixes that. I'll get around to trying to hook it up via bluetooth with my phone. I'm not a big user, the box said everyday printing but I only probably print about 10 pages a week. I'd like to come back to this in about a year as I haven't had good luck with printers lasting a long time. I keep it covered when I'm not using it. So far so good, I'd certainly recommend this printer

I work almost exclusively from my cell phone and being able to use this in conjunction with the HP Smart app has increased my efficiency tremendously. From scanning, to printing invoices and shipping labels, it’s a one-stop shop. The scanning and printing quality are both top tier. I like the touch screen interface as well, very easy to navigate and comprehend. I highly recommend this to a small business looking to upgrade from your everyday desktop printer. It’s a high quality, powerful printer in a compact configuration.

I can use this printer via connecting my laptops or even wireless through my android, and with Windows 11. The printer is a bit loud and noisy at start up. Print quality is stellar, and I think the quality meets the large copiers at my real office. I do like the fact it uses toner and not ink, even if the toner costs more for a refill. I think the paper tray is a bit small, and the screen/built in OS is not as useful as HP's bigger options, but for a home office color laser on multiple computers, I don't think you can beat this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great printer but loud The quality of the printing is great, no complaints there at all, but it's loud. I bought it hoping it'd be quieter and faster than the old inkjet we had, but it's not. It also randomly 'calibrates' and makes noise when my husband is on meeting calls - I had to run in and unplug it yesterday. I haven't been able to figure out how to print remotely on it, which has also been very frustrating.

Can the document feeder duplex scan?

Hello Callan, Thank you for reaching out to HP. The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301sdw does not support automatic duplex scanning via its Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). While it offers automatic two-sided printing, its ADF can only scan one side of a document at a time. To scan double-sided documents, you'd need to manually flip the pages and scan each side separately.
