Exactly what I needed
Despite all the negative reviews on this product I actually like them. Everything was easy to set up even when I included 2 Solar panels to charge the cameras that where way out of reach I also bought 2 Proper mounting brackets for these 2 as I did not feel the magnetic mounts would be enough. These cameras have been working for more than three weeks now and are charged fully every day. I also use a micro SD card to only record to this rather than using the cloud. The night vision when recording with the light give accurate color video. I would suggest making sure all the settings are adjusted to your own personal needs and so far I am happy to recommend this system.

Average with poor quality app
I bought the ultra 2 a month ago, the recording quality is good, including at night but everything else is really poor. The mounts that you screw into the wall are cheap and have a tiny plastic rectangle that you have to force the camera mount into, so a tiny piece of plastic is holding the $1200 camera system, I’m waiting for my cameras to crash to the ground. Instead of getting one continuous video, I get several short videos from each camera when they are triggered. There is no quick easy way to live view a camera when it is triggered and by the time you do, or you try to use the microphone, it’s all too late and the person has already broken into your home.

Beware ongoing subscriptions
Solution itself is initially great.
Wireless reception is great, I have cameras in locations mobile can't detect WiFi but cameras detect base station no issues at all, Arlo base station is next to my WiFi router!
Disadvantage of wireless over wired is that you miss the first second of activity and with Arlo max recording time is 2 minutes before you need next activity to be detected for recording to restart.
Beware though, with the Ultra camera cloud subscription expires after 1 year and there is no basic plan. Local SD card storage is possible but difficult to work with. Consider the Pro cameras as the free cloud subscription doesn't expire. Cloud subscription is based on cameras, not Arlo base station.
If you're happy paying the monthly cloud subscription and prefer wireless over wired then this is a great product.
I can't recommend as if I'd start fresh I'd install a wired solution next time.

Down side of owning the Ultra 2 Spotlight Camera
Although this is an excellent system and works well you have to subscribe to the cloud to use the features of this camera system. If you record locally all the features disappear. this makes the camera just a very expensive spot light as you need the cloud for it to work to its potential. I will be looking for a new system although the product is very good forcing people to use the cloud so that the system works is very poor customer service on Arlos part. Many of my friends have been awaiting my thoughts but I will be encouraging them to look at other brands if they like me want to stay off the cloud and record locally

Good picture, poor smart motion detection
Picture is very clear but unfortunately the ‘smart detection’ is very poor. I have the motion sensitivity turned down to 1 out of 100 but I still get notifications all day saying there is a car, person, animal etc. on my driveway and when I look at the video there is nothing there. Not sure what is it seeing, maybe a bug? The bug must be very small as I can’t see it. Due to the constant recording of nothing the battery runs down very quickly. I would not recommend this product to anyone, unlike me I recommend you do some research before purchasing cameras as I have since found that this is a common problem with Arlo.

Ultra good ultra simple simply ultra
Ok so I did purchase the ultra after doing my research. I wanted a system that I can use without a subscription. This Arlo gives me the option to (ultra sweet) ✅. Setting up the system is simple (ultra easy) ✅. The cameras look great and the images are crisp (ultra sexy) ✅. The customisation for the camera is plenty (ultra versatile) ✅. Setting this system up for the peace of mind for my home and family makes me feel like an ultraman! Can't be all good right? Well 1 thing I wish Arlo could improve on the system is for the hub to have a usb connection for external drive. Not a deal breaker for me but nice to have.

False claims Re battery and HomeKit
These are the reason for my 2 stars review:
1- HomeKit compatibility is misleading and inaccurate, I can not view the cams even with VPN access, streaming is not reliable and not getting notifications through HomeKit.
2- Extreme delay in loading cameras in HomeKit and Arlo App. The two talk is a gimmick.
3- Motion recordings are glitched and only record 10-15 seconds which is most of the time not what I want to see.
4- A night recorded video yesterday was of no value.
5- Missing notifications.
6- Taking up to 30 seconds sometimes to get a notification
7- 10% of the battery is drained in two days. How would that last for 6 months?
8- to top it all up the activity zones are paid features..

Great when on subscription
Free 30days trial subscription immediately when u turn the systemon, record everything within the 7m range...In a way.
Once subscription is expire, no more video, can only access via base, see photo,
the legendary pro version get free record. That feature is better. I do notice either pro or ultra range both sometime miss some motion. Not able record every single things. Best way to use is to have plan that continue recording. Of course. It really depend on your need and intended use. N how deep is ur pocket.
Bought thinking it will have same feature is old pro range and can record motion on base. It turn out it is worst than pro. But the wide angle is great feature, track is great feature when u pay.

Can you add more then 3 cameras to this system and what is the field of view please.
Thanks for your question. You can add up to 5 cameras without a subscription fee, and a total of 15 cameras per hub or base unit, as your subscription plan supports. The Arlo Ultra 2 Outdoor cameras have an adjustable diagonal field of view of 180, 155, or 120 degrees. Trust this helps! ^CO

can you run 2k camera and 4kg together
Hi there. Due to hardware limitations, Arlo Ultra cameras cannot stream to the cloud in 2K and simultaneously record locally in quality higher than 2K. Therefore 2k and 4k cameras will not be able to work together. Hope this helps with your query.

What is the range on these?
Hi there. Thanks for your question. The distance between WiFi devices can affect the WiFi signal. It is recommended to place the camera a maximum of 90 meters from the SmartHub.
