Looks good
It was purchased in March of this year and my first impression was that it looked very clean and smart. After it was set up I found it wouldn't print with gmail and my banking site, it would only spit out a blank sheet of paper.
I have since resolved those problems by updating the driver.
Bad points are that there are no warning lights to indicate no paper or low toner. You could also make the unit large enugh to house the paper storage internally like your mono model which I prevoiusly owned, the only reason I updated was because I wanted it to run on wi-fi. I loved my old one and had no problems with it for the entire time i had it.

Does exatly what was needed.
The little printer with a big heart is one feeling that comes to mind.
Having given up on ink-jet printers years ago, I needed a monochrome laser to deal with urgent and essential printing to enable interaction with a number of entities who don't allow digital files but insist on hard copy documents.
The big colour laser machine was having a hissy-fit and could not be relied upon.
Ink jets just don't get enough regular work in our home office and consumables are either used-up in cleaning routines or if time passes, nozzles become blocked.
This physically small machine is perfect for intermittent use and is is quite fast.

Good Little Product
This is a great product, it has settled well into my network, enabling my Apple Mac's, Linux and Windows machines all sharing the same printer with no setup issues (uncommon with so many different OSes).
Good cheap price, the only function I miss is a full duplex option, in my opinion this is the only function stopping this printer from being classified as a higher category printer.
Easily handles everything I have thrown at it, and 0 paper jams at the moment (after about 100 prints or so), which is a plus.
Neat, cheap and performs well under pressure!

A good basic BW printer
I have a colour printer for photos etc, but this is by go to printer for all the previews and for letters etc where colour is not required. It is basic black and white, but the laser printer is so much cheaper to operate for B&W stuff than using a bubble jet. A great basis and economical BW printer for home, or for small office.

HL-1210w laser printer
Pros: Laser printer at this price is excellent. The printer takes up little room is light weight and very easy to set up remote printing with laptop. The print quality is also very good for a mono printer of this size and price.
Cons: A little noisy but you can live with this for price and portability.
The edges of the paper come out a little curled up a little disappointing, but remember this in not a $600 unit. Yes using good quality reflex paper.
Over all I would recommend this for anyone wanting a printer that is fast to print, portable, light weight and easy to set up, great for students and the like with better quality printing than ink jets.

This was a replacement for the HL2130, it is costlier but not nearly as good. It is way slower to get going, the paper is always exposed in the tray which allows dust to settle and it is a bigger unit. The setup instructions are wrong, they say to load the paper and then turn on, this causes an immediate problem as the machine sucks up a piece of paper immediately and causes a paper jam.I had to take the first one back and the shop replaced it, thinking it was just a glitch I followed the instructions as per the manual and the same thing happened. This needs addressing urgently, whoever wrote the manual has not set up the machine.

Reliable basic printer with easy set up
This printer was purchased as the majority of our printing is b/w and with our previous inkjet printer, we seemed to be replacing expensive colour cartridges on a regular basis when we had barely used them. This printer was very easy to set up through wifi and has performed reliably since day 1. Do be aware that it is basic e.g. double-sided printing involves a manual turn over of pages, so consider going up a level if you want some additional features. However if you are looking for a reliable, easy to set up b/w printer, we happily recommend this product. If we ever wear this one out (which looks like it would take a lot of effort!) we will look at another Brother product to replace it.

Performance vs Price -- Excellent!
I have used my Brother 1210W now for a few months and am completely pleased with performance. I purchased this model due to its price compared to its competitors, none of which matched performance and quality of print. Toner use is excellent, I anticipated far greater than this.
Its graphics could be better though for 600 x 600 DPI I find its result quite good enough. To adjust for additional shades of grey and definition would reduce speed of print and increase toner use. The page printed count shows 569 A4 pages for the supplied toner cartridge which is about 75% used. I feel this lives up to its advertised consumption and user guide statements.
