Better than a bought one
At first a bit daunting to set up. Quite a bit of sorting the grind and making sure the pressure is the most efficient etc. Once sorted this machine will constantly produce quality coffee and with minimal maintenance each day. I would have this every day as opposed to cafe blend. Can experiment easily with different types and not always control the end result. Only one to blame is yourself.
Have recommended this machine to several people now and they all enjoy the results, some of whom would be coffee snobs too. Great machine, compact enough to be on the bench all the time ready to go and elegant enough to be part of the equipment in the kitchen.

Best coffee machine
I’ve had this for 2 months. I love making my morning coffee as much as I love drinking it now. I never realised how much science goes into making a coffee. I’ve used different beans and I’ve had to adjust the grind size and quantity every time but I write the settings down to remember for a particular bean and it’s spot on every time.
I love making coffee for guests too.
Love this machine. It’s tricky but enjoyable at the same time. It’s satisfying when you see the dial land in the perfect spot and the coffee comes out like honey with a beautiful crema on top.

Easy to use...
This is my first home machine after using a pod machine I had given to me which served a very presentable espresso. But I wanted to add milk and love silky froth so I looked around for ages and eventually went to try one at a friend's place who had same model. Thought I would be a bit annoyed at extra labour involved. But this machine is super easy to use and very satisfying getting the grind/pressure/milk etc right. Love it. And fresh grind to coffee is just great,the smell is divine and it is like being in a good cafe every morning in my house now.Bought the black which looks sleek and is easy to clean.

The quality of a morning coffee can make or break your day.
A reliable model feels like an investment, a terrible one like daylight robbery. It’s perfect if you’re new to making coffee at home, and will give you a gentle learning curve while giving you the flexibility to experiment. Moreover, if you become obsessed with home coffee to the point where you outgrow the capabilities. Everything about this home coffee machine exudes quality. The Barrister Express is a great machine to start off with, this coffee machine was recommended by so many family members and friends it’s a must have in every home, I am in love with it Best purchase I have made for Christmas thank you Breville

Good little machine
For the price this machine is great, if you know what you are doing can make a killer brew, only issue I have found is as it is a single boiler you can't extract the shot and texturise milk at the same time (I understood this when purchasing but as I drink black coffee its only an issue when my friends want one), for that tech you are looking at spending a touch more $$ but if you're wicked quick it wont affect the quality at all.
Overall extremely happy with the product

This is all you need to make a fine cup of coffee!
My husband and I had purchased the original machine around 10 years ago which is almost identical apart from a few design and technical changes. We hardly had to spend a cent on service and parts over that period until it was dying a slow death. We worked it overtime though, have churned out loads of coffees and now we didn't even do any research on other machines on the market as we new we wanted to replace it with this same machine! Fantastic and very happy so far!

Super fast and easy to use
It is really easy to use and is ready to go in under 30 seconds. Takes a bit of playing around with granularity etc. to hit the right pressure. Also, I have double shot coffee only and the grind coffee dispenser doesn't remember that, so every time I have to switch it from single to double, which is annoying, especially if you forget and it only dispenses single shot, then I have to manually do the rest, but otherwise really good coffee, milk texturing and no issues.

Coffee lover’s delight!
I did a barista course earlier this year and I was hunting for a manual coffee machine for my new home.
The Barista Express was a Christmas present to myself and I am very glad that I made this choice. The machine size, design and colour fits perfectly in my open plan, contemporary house. The inbuilt bean grinder gives me freshly ground coffee of my choice (fine, coarse, quantity). The machine is very user friendly. I can proudly say that I always get perfect milk texture and froth which enhances my coffee experience every morning.
Overall I am very happy with my purchase and I am looking forward to refine my barista skills with this machine.
