Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magnificent Sound in my home theatre After extensive research and a quest to find a quality sound system for my home theater without breaking the bank, I stumbled upon the Samsung Q990D soundbar complete with a subwoofer and two upfiring speakers. Let me tell you, the sound quality is simply astounding. It delivers clarity and bass that rival even the most expensive 7.2 full-blown home theater systems, all at a fraction of the cost. This soundbar is a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to enhance their home audio without shelling out a fortune. It certainly satisfies my needs perfectly and my home theatre is buzzing!! :-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but could be much much much better [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Happy with the purchase but was also expecting a lot more from it from the top of line product. Thus, More like a 3.5 start than a 4 start. Music is not bad. But if the source is not atmos, the surround capability is very limited and less than the outdated Dolby surround or dts etc. Setting up was far more complicated than what it should have been with the system bugging out and having it restart it few times until it worked properly. The display is also not what I would have expected from a product of this price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NZ the poor cousin again Would be good if you could purchase it. NZ was months behind Aus in releasing the 990D. Months. Then when it got here, it was available for two days, so must have been stock measured in dozens to hundreds. On top of that, the 990C is sold out too. I guess it makes the decision between Samsung and the other options a bit easier. Off to the other S I go. At least they sell products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised I’ve had Samsung products for a long time but never considered them for sound until today. I did a lot of research on different brands, the likes of Bose, Sonos, jbl. Had my heart set on buying the jbl 1300 purely for the wireless rear surrounds that don’t require power connected. After hearing the difference between the jbl and Samsung, I couldn’t go past it. Got home to connect it and watch a movie. It was pretty good, probably not as good as my onkyo amp and my Dali speakers, but for a minimalistic setup this is the bees knees ! Superb sound! My only hate, think it needs a bigger sub, and would be great to get an instruction manual rather than downloading and printing 60 + pages. Well done Samsung, sounds great, looks great and worth the money. Does Samsung reply to these reviews? Question, I had the bar connected via Bluetooth initially but changed to earc as I wasn’t sure if Qsymphony was working or getting atmos sound or just stereo?
